Welcome to the LCARS-NG Project

LCARS-NG is an acronym for Library Computer Access/Retrieval System - Next Generation

The original term LCARS comes from the Star Trek television series and motion pictures productions and is a name for a fictional operation system. The term was invented by screenwriter Dorothy Fontana. The LCARS graphical user interface was designed by scenic art supervisor and technical consultant Michael Okuda. First appearance was in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987).

LCARS-NG is a project by Giang Nguyen. The objective is to develop a Web-based LCARS running on the powerful open source Drupal Content Management System.

In the future you will see here more information about the project and the LCARS-NG Powered Drupal theme to download.
